Copper and lithium demand curves agree. Their supply response horizons do not.
Everyone modelling the energy transition arrives at the same demand conclusion. The disagreement is entirely about how quickly supply answers, and that disagreement is worth billions.
Copper's answer is slow: permitting and construction horizons measured in a decade or more. Lithium's is fast enough to have already produced one violent price cycle.
Treating the two as a single trade has cost allocators money twice in three years.
